The Premio V Bienal de Novela Mario Vargas Llosa Award has just announced the names of the twelve finalists. According to the organization, the award, endowed with 100,000 dollars and a sculpture by the Peruvian artist Fernando de Szyszlo, "aims to promote the interest of agents and publishers of the main languages of the world and to introduce new authors, exalt the well-known ones and offer an additional boost to the career of the exalted».
The Award is already in its fifth edition. It was created by the Vargas Llosa Chair in 2014. The last edition was held in Guadalajara (Mexico) September 23-26, 2021. It brought together some thirty creators and intellectuals from Latin America and Spain who participated in nine round tables.
