The essayist Elvira Roca Barea, with her work 'Las brujas y el inquisitor,’ has won the Premio Primavera 2023 Award on its twenty-seventh edition, as announced at a press conference held this Friday in Madrid.

Endowed with 100,000 euros, the contest is organized by the Espasa publishing house and Ámbito Cultural of El Corte Inglés, to support literary creativity and contribute to the utmost promotion of the novel as a form of artistic expression.

The jury for this edition, chaired by Carme Riera and made up of Antonio Soler, Gervasio Posadas, Fernando Rodríguez Lafuente, and David Cebrián (voting secretary), ruled yesterday, and by majority, announced their decision at a meeting held in Madrid.
