The Minister of Culture and Sports, Miquel Iceta, the director of the Guadalajara International Book Fair, Marisol Schulz, and the president of AC/E, José Andrés Torres Mora, signed the agreement today to ratify Spain’s presence at the Mexican fair.
The 'Overflowing Creativity' of Spanish literature will flood Mexico between November 30th and December 8th, 2024, at the largest Spanish-language book fair in the world.
Spain was already a Guest of Honor Country in 2000 and, now, twenty-four years later:
"We want to show how we have evolved and reaffirm the Government's commitment to supporting the publishing sector and the internationalization of books," said the minister. He also recognized that “Spain is experiencing a good moment for the book industry.” This opportunity, he stressed, will make visible the diversity of Spanish literature, both due to the plurality of its languages and its literary genres. Spanish literature is experiencing one of the most interesting moments in its recent history and has made the Spanish publishing industry one of the most important internationally.
