The largest fair in the world in terms of public attendance and the third in business volume, after Frankfurt and London, hosts the 'Overflowing Creativity' of Spain as the Main Theme Country in the Republic of India until next February 12th.

The Ministry of Culture and Sports continues to promote the internationalization of the Spanish book sector. After the success achieved in Frankfurt, Spain today inaugurated the Calcutta Book Fair 2023, in the Republic of India, as the guest of honor country. In the opening ceremony, held today on the main stage of the Boi Mela Prangan in Calcutta, the participation of María José Gálvez, Director General of Books and Reading Promotion of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, together with the Chief Minister of the State of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee; the mayor of Calcutta, Firhad Hakim; and the Chairman and Secretary of the Calcutta Publishers & Booksellers Guild, Sudhangshu Sekhar Dey and Tridib Chatterjee.
