The novelist Alexis Ravelo, critical voice of the crisis and alma mater of the noir novel, dies at the age of 52.

The author from Gran Canaria made the noir genre a method to denounce violence and inequality in novels such as “La estrategia del pequinés” and “Los nombres prestados.”

News of his passing has been confirmed by both his family and his publisher, Alrevés, which has released a message expressing their condolences:

«With infinite sadness we receive the news of the death of the author, and great friend Alexis Ravelo. There is no way to hold back the tears for this loss. We have no words to express our sadness. But above all we want to send Thalía, his inseparable travel companion, all our love,” says the statement.
