New graphic representation for the Madrid Book Fair for its 90 years

Today the Madrid Book Fair launches its new image. Users will see it first in their logo and website.

This event coincides with the fair’s 90th birthday, although the 2023 edition will be its 82nd. The forced interruption of its celebration suffered during the Civil War explains the lapse.

The makeover of the fair is part of the objectives pursued by Eva Orúe since she took over as director, just over a year ago. One of its basic elements is a new logo, created by Pep Carrió studio and with which it has paid homage to El Retiro Park, a natural enclave that houses the fair during its 17 days. «We have created an image that emphasizes the popular character of this fair compared to other more professional ones. A recognizable and singular image, which represents book and nature, united in a single symbol”, affirms the designer, illustrator, and plastics artist. «Pep Carrió's idea of uniting books and trees seemed to us as simple as it was powerful. After all, we are in the park to which the Fair owes a good part of its exceptional character”, adds the director of the Madrid Book Fair.
