This January 28th we celebrate Bookmobile Day in Spain. The work of the Bibliobús will not bear fruits if there is no continuity over time, and that is precisely what they want to celebrate this 2023

when the 70th anniversary of a trajectory that has not been interrupted since then, is celebrated. From the Asociación de Profesionales de Bibliotecas Móviles they want to celebrate January 28th, Bookmobile Day in Spain, with an article on their website in which they remember the work of these very peculiar libraries.

We have not forgotten the admirable effort involved in launching the el Bibliobús del Frente (1938-1939) in Catalonia, the first Spanish bookmobile, unfortunately, just as it was during the Civil War, it was also one more fatality of it.

When, in 1953, the mobile library services resumed, it was already to serve the neighborhoods and industrial belts of the main capitals, without ceasing to function to this day.
