The novel “De bestias y aves,” published by Galaxia Gutenberg becomes the 2022 book of the year.
The Francisco Umbral Foundation has awarded the twelfth Francisco Umbral Award for Book of the Year 2022 to Pilar Adón for the novel “De bestias y aves.” The prize is endowed with 12,000 euros (amount with which the Majadahonda City Council contributes as patron to the Francisco Umbral Foundation), and a sculpture designed by Alberto Corazón.
The ruling took place at the Foundation's headquarters, in the Francisco Umbral municipal library in Majadahonda on Tuesday, January 24th, 2023. The jurors were: Juan Cruz Ruiz, Vice president of Prensa Ibérica; Carlos Fernández Aganzo, poet, and director of Institutional Relations for El norte de Castilla and deputy director of the Vocento Foundation; Manuel Llorente, journalist for El Mundo and president of the jury; César Antonio Molina Sánchez, writer, and former Minister of Culture; José Luis Morales, representing the Francisco Umbral Foundation.
