María Fernández Moya in “Multinacionales del Castellano” wants to emphasize the power of the Spanish publishing sector outside our borders.

The publishing sector is growing and a good account of this can be seen in the repercussion that the union has in international fairs. That is what María Fernandez Moya focuses on in her book “Multinacionales del Castellano,” as the synopsis points out: Spain is currently one of the ten publishing powers worldwide. This data is almost a paradox if we consider its status as a late-developing country, and the low educational level, compared to other European nations, and its low international competitiveness. How and why has this leading international business fabric been forged? This question is the central theme of the book. To answer it, this study deals with the reconstruction and analysis of the internationalization process of the Spanish publishing sector from the1900’s to the present day.
