Xenia García secures two awards for two of her works. After three years without a call for entries, the MonteLeón Foundation Short Story Book Award has been given to the work “Cárceles de azúcar” by Xenia García.
According to the jury, “it is an interesting narrative rite that mixes the ancient and the modern. Likewise, it presents a great burden of social conscience, reflecting on a rethinking of current feminism.”
Her other book, “Kudryavka. Perra de pelo rizado,” has been announced as the winner of the XXIII Unicaja Novel Prize 'Fernando Quiñones', awarded by the Unicaja Foundation.
The winner of the contest has received the 6,000 euros stipulated in the competition rules and the 50 copies of the award-winning Storybook edition.
