"Patria", by Fernando Aramburu, the last great publishing phenomenon of Spanish literature, published in 2016, and that same year, awarded with the Critics Award and a year later with the National Narrative Award,
has been chosen by Internet users as the best Spanish novel of the 21st century in a survey conducted by Escuela de Escritores through Instagram.
Escuela de Escritores, the largest Creative Writing school in Spanish in the world, proposed a series of votes to their followers on this social network that took place through Instagram stories between October 10-20. From 32 novels written up to now in the 21st. century by Spanish authors, pairings were established which led to the final two: “La ridícula idea de no volver a verte,” by Rosa Montero, and “Patria,” by Fernando Aramburu.
