Robustiana Armiño was a writer and polygrapher of social and personal content, involved with the ideological movement of the time. She was an intellectual of recognized national and international success and later of great repercussion in the study of feminine romanticism.

Robustiana Armiño y Menéndez was born in Gijón in 1821, of wealthy origins.  Very soon she became interested in learning languages and at a very early age she did it by self-teaching; always driven by the desire to learn new cultures through incessant reading. She was a precocious writer who published her poems in different publications (almost daily) with great success on the part of her followers at the time, who were eager for imaginative and exotic content.
