Celebrating the First Meeting of Independent Spanish Publishers for Hispano-American Literature.

The objective of the publishers in this meeting is not to compete with the big groups, but to find a place where they feel comfortable to have the opportunity to publish what seems appropriate and necessary.

On October 17th, 18th and 19th, these conferences were held for the promotion of Hispanic American literature published by independent Spanish publishers. To this end, Casa de América ceded its Simón Bolívar room and the halls of said floor to the Ibero-American bookstores, Juan Rulfo (FCE) and Los Pequeños Seres, who sold them the editorial collection of these 24 labels. During the morning sessions, professional meetings were held for publishers, booksellers, and the press. It was attended by Antonio María Ávila (executive director of the Federation of Publishers' Guilds of Spain [FGEE]), Antonio Muñoz Vico (professor of the Master's Degree in Publishing at the Autonomous University of Madrid and a lawyer at the J & A Garrigues law firm), Vivian Lavín (Vuelvan las Plumas Agency) and Carina Pons (Carmen Balcells Agency).
