The 7th edition of Day of Women Writers has the directorship of the writer Carmen Domingo and the theme chosen is "Antes, durante y después de las guerras” (Before, during and after the wars).
The National Library of Spain, in collaboration with the Spanish Federation of Directors, Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneural Women (FEDEPE) and the Asociación Clásicas y Modernas, celebrate the 7th edition of Women Writers' Day to assert the work and legacy of women that have written throughout history.
As in previous editions, the date chosen is the Monday closest to the festivity of Teresa de Jesús (1515-1582), which is commemorated on October 15, so in 2022 it is celebrated on October 17.
«One more year,” announces Ana Santos Aramburo, director of the BNE, “we re-discover the words of women writers who in their texts reflect feelings, pursuits and struggles. Brave women whose work, on many occasions, has been ignored. Rescuing their voices today is an act of justice and recognition for all of them.” This year's motto highlights "a tribute to the fundamental role they have played in situations of armed conflict and helps to reflect and consider with a different view, a situation not only of suffering, but also of generosity and commitment."
