The award recognizes the winning work for "its original and fast-paced script, which goes back to the time of the Bruguera publishing house."
The cartoonist Paco Sordo has been awarded this Tuesday with the National Comic Award for his work ‘El pacto’ (Nuevo Nueve publisher). The award, granted by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, is endowed with 20,000 euros, and distinguishes the best work of this genre published in any of the official languages of the State in 2021.
The jury has highlighted ‘El pacto,’ his first stand-alone comic, as an “exercise in the genealogy of the environment, which takes us back to the Bruguera era, and for projecting that legacy towards the present and the future.” It also highlights "its original and fast-paced script, which is a true tribute to Spanish comics."
