In its 40th edition, Liber 2022 has facilitated the long-awaited in-person gathering of the Spanish publishing industry with clients from all over the world, demonstrating that the recovery of the level of pre-pandemic book exports is on the way.
The growth of the internationality of the attendees stands out, which is close to 40% and double the percentage of the last in-person edition of Barcelona in 2018. In an environment conducive to business meetings and the closing of orders, the visitors have especially valued the quality of the novelties and bibliographic collections offered by the almost 300 participating exhibitors.
Liber is one of the great commercial platforms for books in Spanish that generates, in three days, professional contacts and open negotiations that will mean exports worth more than 110 million euros in the last quarter of the year, according to estimates by the Federation of Guilds of Publishers of Spain (FGEE), promoter of the fair.
The president of the FGEE and of the organizing committee of Liber, Daniel Fernández, has assured: “after 40 editions, Liber has shown that it is still very much alive and that it has a splendid future as a meeting and business point for the Spanish book industry.
