The collection of poems, 'Ligero' (2021), in which the artist seeks to find solace in uncertainty, has been chosen by the jury.
Ismael Ramos has won this year's Miguel Hernández National Prize for Young Poetry for his work ‘Ligero’ (Editorial La Bella Varsovia, 2021) in Spanish and Lixeiro (Xerais) in Galician. The poet stated in a telephone interview that he began to write “because nothing else” really fitted him. For him it is a privilege to be part of "a generation of young poets full of talent".
The jury praised "his poetic imagination, capable of undertaking a generational song intoned from a resigned disillusion that combines irony and nostalgia." This award, granted by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, is endowed with 20,000 euros.
