This year in the program of the Professional Sessions organized by the FGEE (Federation of Publisher Guilds of Spain) in Liber 2022, the industry's commitment to sustainability will be prominent,
with conferences that will analyze the measurement of the carbon footprint in physical and digital books, the use of PEFC-certified paper for printing copies to guarantee their sustainable origin, and the presentation of the ecological publishing manual of the General State Administration, to promote good practices in the public publishing sector focused on reducing the environmental impact of its publications.
Eco-publishing, sustainability, printing-on-demand, podcasts, and the sale of books by subscription, are some of the new trends in the publishing sector that will be addressed by the more than 130 speakers in the 53 sessions proposed by Liber 2022, taking place from October 5-7 at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via venue. The fair will also focus on issues related to digitization, the promotion of reading among the youngest, the protection of bibliodiversity, access to new markets such as Asia and adaptation to new regulations, among other great challenges being faced in the industry.
