CEDRO speculates on the union of literature and journalism to combat misinformation

The writers and journalists Nativel Preciado and Antonio Lucas participate in the round table moderated by CEDRO in which they advocate uniting journalism and literature to act against fake information.

Last Friday, September 16th, the Spanish Center for Reprographic Rights (CEDRO), the association that protects the intellectual property rights of authors, brought together writers and journalists Nativel Preciado and Antonio Lucas to discuss at Hay Festival Segovia how literature can combat misinformation. Both agreed that a balance between journalism and literature is needed to stop the spread of stories that seek to manipulate the truth.

Both speakers, who were moderated by Daniel Fernández, president of CEDRO, considered it necessary for the press to have a balance between literature and information, so that a precise analysis and literary complement can coexist.

Nativel considers that «the truth in the media is discredited. Writers use autofiction to tell the truth." For his part, Antonio Lucas adds "it is easier to find the truth in literature than in the press."
