Today I share an interview with the Venezuelan lawyer, poet and translator, Mariela Cordero García (1985). She is the author of the poetry books “El cuerpo de la duda,” (Editorial Publicarte, Venezuela, 2013) and “Transfigurar es un país que amas,” (Editorial Dos Islas, United States, 2020).

The writer Mariela Cordero is a coordinator in the Sección de Traducción Literaria (Literary Translation Department) of the Revista Liberoámerica Magazine (Spain and Latin America) and in the Revista Poémame Magazine (Spain). Her poems have been translated into more than 14 languages ??and published in various international anthologies. She has received  distinctions for her poetic work, such as Third Place in the Poesía Alejandra Pizarnik Contest, (Argentina 2014), First Place in the II Concurso Iberoamericano Euler Granda Contest (Ecuador 2015), Second Prize for Poetry in the Concorso Letterario Internazionale Bilingüe Tracceperlameta Edizioni  Contest, (Italy 2015), Micropoemas en Castellano Award of the III TRANSPalabr@RTE Contest 2015, and first place in the Concurso Internacional  de Poesía Contest #AniversarioPoetasHispanos, honorary mention of literary quality, Spain (2016).
