In this XXII edition, the Ministry of Culture and Sports, in collaboration with the Federación Española de Municipios y Provincias – FEMP (Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces), has awarded 370 prizes to libraries in municipalities with less than 50,000 inhabitants throughout Spain.

Prizes have been awarded to the best reading promotion projects aimed at all residents, especially groups with difficulties in accessing reading, in any of the official languages ??of the respective Autonomous Community and carried out by public libraries of municipalities with a less than 50,000 population.

In this year's edition, projects have been presented by 547 municipalities from all over Spain. The 370 libraries of the selected municipalities will receive a prize of 2,777.77 Euros. Of these, the top ten will see that amount increased by 10,000 Euros. The destination of these prizes will be mainly used for the purchase of books and/or periodicals by public libraries.
