The Madrid Publishers Association awards the Antonio de Sancha Prize 2022 to the author "for her extraordinary contribution to the knowledge of the history of books and the promotion of reading through her work “El infinito es un junco."

The Madrid Publishers Association especially acknowledge the contribution of the humanist from Zaragoza «thanks to whose exquisite sensitivity and knowledge, hundreds of thousands of people around the world have been able to learn, in an entertaining and at the same time rigorous way, the infinite value of what has been written for thousands of years."

The essay “El infinito es un junco” (Ediciones Siruela) explores the rise of writing and the origin of the book; this fascinating invention that has protected words on their journey through space and time. The author accurately and fluently recounts the adventures of this unlikely object in a journey that is also a travel book through the ancient world. The work has been published in 46 editions in Spanish and is being translated into 39 languages.
