The awards for the 35th Edition of the Noir Week of Gijón are announced

The end of the Noir Week in Gijón reaches its culmination with the most anticipated awards of the crime genre. During the night of July 14th to 15th, the juries meet to decide which are the best books of the year 2021 in the different sub genres they usually award.

DASHIELL HAMMETT AWARD FOR THE BEST NOIR NOVEL WRITTEN IN SPANISH LANGUAGE IN 2021

Meeting in Gijón on the night of July 14th to 15th, the Hammett Prize jury, made up of Miguel Barrero, Xuan Bello, Berna González Harbour, Fermín Goñi and Pilar Sánchez Vicente, agree to award, for the emerging values ??in crime novels in the Spanish language, an ex aequo award to the works: 'Ambar,' by Nicolás Ferraro, and 'El asesino inconformista,” by Carlos Bardem.

The jury wants to highlight the high quality of all the novels that made it to the finalist list and dedicate a special mention to Sergio Ramírez for his ability to turn the tragic decline of a sister country into high literature.
