The committee of the 23rd. Premio Llibreter 2022 Prize, made up of different booksellers has chosen “Los optimistas,” by Rebecca Makkai (Editorial Sexto Piso) as the winning novel.

The 23rd. Premio Llibreter 2022, recognizes the work of a person or entity that stands out for attention and support towards the activity of bookstores.

The jury highlighted that «Rebecca Makkai has written a novel about death, but instead, it is full of life; about friendship in capital letters; about art and all its transcendence. And it is that, “Los optimistas,” is a novel set during the first years of AIDS, drawing attention for its ability to highlight the value of life in the midst of the sad scenario that this epidemic supposed.
