The City of Madrid presents the campaign "Un libro, una sonrisa" to promote reading in children residing in protection centers.

This initiative is promoted by the Ministry of Family, Youth and Social Policy, the La Caixa Foundation, the Germán Sánchez Ruipérez Foundation, the Madrid Publishers Association (AEM) and the Booksellers Guild. The commissioner for the area, Concepción Dancausa, has presented this initiative, through which 16 publishers have donated nearly 17,000 books to 61 regional centers for the protection of children, and has also included a reading workshop for minors under protection.
