The flame of Sílex Ediciones was lit in 1967 although its director, Ramiro Domínguez, has been at the helm since 1999.
Domínguez wanted to tell Publishnews a little more about this publishing house that was born to publish monographs that accompanied the images of Eleonor Domínguez of the Caves of Altamira. The first title was precisely that, “Las Cuevas de Altamira,” with a text by Miguel Ángel García Guinea, whom Eleonor met on the expedition from Egypt to bring the temple of Debod to Madrid.
Over time, Sílex welcomed history collections, academic books, and movies. They also opened to the field of music and has been embracing feminism for some time, giving visibility to authors whose stories have remained in the shadows until now.
