Palace Project is an easy-to-use platform for the management and delivery of e-books, audiobooks, and other content, and puts libraries at the center of their communities' digital experience.
The Palace Project, a division of LYRASIS, funded by a multi-year, multi-million-dollar investment from the Knight Foundation, is committed to building and expanding a digital future for libraries and their users, as it builds on an investment from DPLA (Digital Public Library of the United States) in the field of electronic books by the Sloan Foundation. Palace already serves more than 100 libraries and is currently adding libraries in California, Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Washington.
The Palace Project's open-source system allows librarians to manage collections, housing, and circulation with a single application, while protecting user privacy and strengthening the direct relationship libraries have with their users. The Palace app, available for iOS and Android, enables libraries to serve their entire contents to patrons in one easy-to-use interface. Being able to lend content from their main providers, such as OverDrive, Baker and Taylor, Bibliotheca and Bibliolabs.
