The Madrid Book Fair 2022 will be the largest in size so far this century

The 81st Madrid Book Fair will break a participation record with 378 booths and more than 400 exhibitors.

The Madrid Book Fair has presented the program for its 81st edition this Thursday at the Palacio de Cibeles, in which have been revealed the main subjects on which the annual event between books will revolve, this year being held from 27th May to June 12th in El Retiro Park.

The fair, after editions of difficulties, recovers its usual space in the Paseo de Coches with a varied program that is included in the "Browse the world" motto, and offers more than 300 activities that have been announced a week after the official opening, which will be attended by Queen Letizia.

The record number of requests for participation has made this 81st edition the largest in size so far this century. Visitors will have the opportunity to walk among 378 booths and more than 400 exhibitors.

This edition does not have a guest country, but thanks to the Latin American vocation of the fair, or the presence for the first time of the European Union —which is setting up a pavilion for cultural activities—, readers will be able to travel, for example, to Eastern Europe without the strict need to leave the Car Ride during the 17 days of the event. Also, through other spaces built in El Retiro, such as the Publishers Weekly Pavilion, the Children's Pavilion or the CaixaBank Cultural Activities Pavilion.
