Writer Javier Abasolo dies at the age of 65

The Bilbao lawyer and crime novel writer, Javier Abasolo, has died at the age of 65, victim of an illness, as sources close to the writer have reported.

José Javier Abasolo (Bilbao, January 3rd, 1957), studied Law at Deusto and has worked for the Basque Government, although he was already in early retirement.

His best-known novels (Erein Publishing House) are of the noir genre, especially the four starring Mikel Goikoetxea, alias "Goiko," a former Ertzaina (autonomous police of the Basque Country), turned private detective.
