Almudena Grandes, with an accent

We remember the writer from Madrid, who died on November 2021, reading with Spanish accents from both sides of the Atlantic, the beginning of her novel “La madre de Frankenstein.”

We invite you to listen to a double tribute. To the writer Almudena Grandes, whom we miss so much. And also, to Spanish, the common language of millions of people who are united by a language that is plural precisely because it is also universal. We understand each other, even if we speak differently. And part of the richness of this language is in its different accents, in the different ways of pronouncing each word.

This year, for this double tribute, we have summoned twenty writers, who represent a good part of the Spanish-speaking countries.
