"Jack Mullet de los Siete Mares" and "El mar detrás" are the winning works of the 44th edition of the SM El Barco de Vapor and Gran Angular 2022 Awards.

This morning, the SM Foundation has announced the award-winning works in the 44th edition of the SM El Barco de Vapor and Gran Angular 2022 Awards. “Jack Mullet de los Siete Mares,” by Cristina Fernández Valls, has won the El Barco de Vapor 2022, while “El mar detrás,” by Ginés Sánchez Muñoz has won the 2022 the Gran Angular Award.

Both titles have been unveiled by the journalist and writer Nuria Labari, in an act that has taken place in the Taiga bookstore in Madrid. Labari wanted to emphasize that these awards not only aim to value literary works, but also the readers who will receive them: «There is literature before and after the internet. We risk the future through what we read: reading is key in the development of identity and of the world».
