TodoLiteratura interviews Santiago Álvarez: “The obligation of a writer is to have his own unique voice”

The writer from Murcia, Santiago Álvarez, is currently presenting his new crime novel, or rather his new “country noir” “Muerdealmas”. The work has been published by the AdN label and the author has come to Madrid to inform the media.

Lorenzo Silva presented the author at a meeting with readers in a central bookstore of Madrid.

Santiago Álvarez, in addition to having published three novels, is a musician and cultural manager.  As a manager he is the content director of the Valencia Negra festival and directs Xàbia Negra and Torrente Històrica. As a musician he has recorded several albums with different formations in which he plays the bass and guitar. In 2016 he published the novel “El Jardín de Cartón.”  His latest novel, “Muerdealmas,” has taken nearly six years to publish.

“Really, it hasn't been that long, I was busy with another novel which I have just picked up again. And the one that is now being published was in the works before the pandemic,” recalls the author who has lived in Valencia for more than twenty years.
