Inés Martínez García is not only a journalist, but she is also a poetry editor, narrator, and poet!
That is why today she writes a few lines about the current poetic world in which we find ourselves, making a brief tour of various awards, published works, magazines, publishers and, above all, how this reviled genre works today not only in Spain but in other Spanish-speaking countries such as Mexico or Ecuador.
In Spain, literature is one of the cultural branches that receives the least echo and benefits from the Government and that has the least coverage on the news or at festivals. It is the publishers or associations, non-profit or with a greater capacity for union such as some guilds or universities, that ensure that this publishing sector does not decline completely. Although we do not always agree with who attends the «poetic soirees», we already know that there is no dish to everyone's taste and also that, luckily, this digitalization can bring us closer to literatures, records and not so famous voices with which we can identify or feel more in tune with those who dominate the posters.
