Meghan Markle's first book was born from a poem that the Duchess of Sussex wrote for her husband, Harry of England, one month after the birth of their son, Archie, in 2019, for his first Father’s Day.

“Este es el banco/ donde empieza esta historia/ la de un padre y un hijo,/ nuestro bebé, nuestra familia/ nuestra memoria.” (This is your bench), the poem reads, (Where life will begin/For you and our son/Our baby, our kin) are the verses that inspired the book arriving today, February 28th, in Spain by Duomo Ediciones.

"The poem became this story," explains Markle in a statement made by the publisher, "I hope that all families, no matter who they are, see themselves reflected in El Banco, as much as mine."
