A study of the publishing market in 2021 shows a slight rise in sales and the inactivity of digital media. More than 35% of the population never reads.
The confinement of 2020 brought the Spanish population closer to books and that reading habit lasted throughout 2021, according to the latest Study of Reading and Book Buying Habits, presented at the Ministry of Culture this Wednesday. The results of the survey —carried out by the company Conecta on 5,011 Spaniards from all over the country and with a margin of error of 1.41%— place the percentage of Spaniards who include reading among their activities at 64.4%. leisure, 52.7% weekly. The study also shows that the audiobook, a market firmly established in the Anglo-Saxon world, is taking off in Spain.
