Spain will be the guest of honor country at the FIL in Guadalajara in 2024

The Minister of Culture and Sports, Miquel Iceta, announced yesterday that Spain will be the guest of honor country in 2024 at the International Book Fair (FIL) in Guadalajara (Mexico), the most important meeting of the industry in Spanish.

In the Culture Committee of the Senate, Iceta has announced that Spain will have a special presence at the fair two years from now, a role that has been reserved for the Emirate of Sharjah (UAE) in 2022, in an effort to approach the Arab culture.

The Guadalajara FIL, which combines a publishing business and a cultural festival, received almost 252,000 visitors in 2021, a drop in public due to the pandemic, which caused them to close with a deficit, despite the fact that there were more sales than in 2019.
