The City Council of Valverde (El Hierro) has launched the project "Mi biblioteca si que cuenta,” which was created to turn the Municipal Library into a meeting point for children between the ages of 3 and 15.
This is a project that seeks to live in other times, other lives, and other cultures, through reading and imagination. It will be held every Friday, thus creating a way of life with a book club subdivided and adapted to four age groups: from 3 to 5 years old, from 6 to 8 years old, from 9 to 12 and from 13 to 15 years old.
The Culture and Education Commissioner, Rosana González, stressed that "thanks to this project, a welcoming space will be created where the participants will feel comfortable and, most importantly, they will have fun, because reading is fun, and we are going to prove it to them. "The Library must become a meeting point, regardless of origins, beliefs or culture. “There will be something that unites them: the love of reading.”
