The academic and professor wins the Francisco Umbral Award for the Best Book of the Year for his work "Morderse la lengua", from Espasa publishing house.
Darío Villanueva, former director of the Royal Spanish Academy and a full member of the RAE, has won the Francisco Umbral Award for Best Book of the Year with the essay “Morderse la lengua: Corrección política y posverdad,” a work in which the author analyzes a moment in the world in which conversation, the trompe l'oeil of truth, blatant lies and moral disciplines are on the rise. Less and less is spoken of almost nothing. And hence this work, an essay endowed with € 12,000 Euros, awarded by the Francisco Umbral Foundation in order to promote reading and culture, recognizing books written in Spanish and published between January 1 and December 31, 2021.
