Male authors continue to top the Publishnews-Nielsen bestseller fiction list

Of the ten best-selling books on this week's Publishnews-Nielsen Spain list, most of the works are written by men.

The Publishnews-Nielsen bestseller list for the week of December 10 shows once again the leading role of fiction books in the publishing market. The billing is divided, as almost always, between the two large groups: Random House and Planeta; and the rest of publishers in the most equitable way possible, as our graphs show.

Among the best-selling fiction books, Never, by Ken Follet, replaces Carmen Mola’s books from the top, although now La Bestia is at number two in the ranking. Men continue to dominate the first numbers, with Arturo Pérez Reverte being the third on this list with his novel El Italiano.

Among non-fiction books Ángel Martín’s Por si las voces vuelven, has reached number one since we announced it was in second place last week. This category shows a clear preference for wellness books and cookbooks, especially now that Christmas is approaching, with books like MasterChef. 100 recipes to make at least once in your life.
