Netflix has launched a virtual book club that will highlight the titles it is adapting into series and movies.
The Netflix Book Club content will be featured by Orange Is The New Black star, Uzo Aduba. The videos will air on Netflix's Still Watching YouTube channel and Netflix's Facebook channel in the United States, beginning November 16. A flagship series sponsored by Starbucks, titled But Have You Read The Book? will show the cast, creators, and authors chatting over a cup of coffee.
Netflix has noted that book adaptations have become some of their biggest hits over the years, such as Bridgerton (which was adapted 18 years after the book series was released), Anne of Green Gables, (first published in 1908), and The Queen's Gambit (37 years later). The Netflix Book Club will notify viewers soon of the readings they will share and chronicle the adaptation process from page to screen.
