The green fever for the plants was accelerated with the pandemic and is reflected in an unprecedented crop of editorial novelties, including memoirs, novels and essays.
The gardening passion is gaining momentum and conquering not only pots, balconies and grounds, but also shelves and novelty tables in bookstores, as publishers connect the public with classics and new titles of this genre.
There is a lot to choose from. From the successful “Recuerdos de un jardinero inglés,” by Reginald Arkell (Periférica), which is now in its sixth edition, to “La planta del mundo” (Galaxia Gutenberg), the latest from Stefano Mancuso, passing through “La mente bien ajardinada” (Debate), from psychologist and gardener Sue Stuart-Smith. Large and small Spanish publishers, from different angles, are successfully cultivating this newly discovered niche, a great field that gardeners like the Uruguayan Leandro Silva, did so much to promote in Spain.
