Liber 2021 will honor the publisher Javier Gogeascoechea Arrien, President of the Desclée De Brouwer publishing house Madrid, who will receive the Liber 2021 Tribute granted by the Federation of Publishers Guilds in Spain (FGEE) coinciding with the opening of LIBER.

It is a recognition of his work "as a benchmark in the publishing world, for his contribution to the expansion of published works in Spanish in Latin America and for promoting the commitment to human values ??through literature."

This tribute will take place on October 12th as part of the Liber 2021 awards ceremony that will take place at the IFEMAMADRID Fairgrounds. A lawyer and economist trained at the University of Deusto, Javier Gogeascoechea Arrien (Brudge, 1940) is a second-generation publisher at Desclée De Brouwer, a company he joined in 1965. Gogeascoechea was one of the first Spanish publishers to open the export market in Latin America.

In fact, his publishing house has been one of the regulars attending the most important trade shows in the region, such as the Guadalajara Book Fair and Buenos Aires. Also in Europe, where he has participated continuously for 41 years at the Frankfurt Fair, among others.
