The Basque poet has been recognized for her collection of poems ‘Nola gorde errsutsa kolkoan’ (Cómo guardar ceniza en el pecho), published by the Susa Publishing House, being the first time that this award is been given to a work written in the Basque language.

This award, presented by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, is endowed with 20,000 Euros. The jury has chosen this work “because it is a mature collection of poems by one of the great contemporary Basque poets.

What begins as a memoir unfolds and makes room for a multitude of voices, styles and strength”.
