Until September 26, the Retiro Park will host the Madrid Book Fair and throughout this weekend and the next a series of authors will attend with their publishers to sign some of their copies for their most amateur and loyal readers. This event usually generates great interest among locals, in fact, last weekend approximately 72,000 people attended and such queues were formed that the fair was forced to expand the number of exits enabled in order to facilitate the flow of visitors.

Every day some of the most recognized authors in Spain, new writers and even public figures who have entered the literary world will come to the booths of its publishing houses. Among the most popular authors are firms such as Elísabet Benavent, Elvira Sastre, Arturo Pérez-Reverte or Fernando Aramburu. The latter, despite having signed a couple of isues the first weekend, still has several sessions scheduled for the weekend of the 18th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on September 19th in the morning and at the afternoon.
