Member of the poetic group of the 'novísimos', he has died at the age of 82 of a heart attack in Madrid.
The poet Antonio Martínez Sarrión (1939-2021) has died at the age of 82 in Madrid as a result of a heart attack. This was announced on Twitter by Pablo Bellido, the president of the Cortes of Castilla la Mancha, and by Emilio Sáez, mayor of Albacete, the poet's hometown.
Poet, essayist and translator (he translated Baudelaire and Victor Hugo, among others), Martínez Sarrión was born in Albacete in 1939. He graduated in Law from the University of Murcia and it was at the end of the 1960s when he became known as poet, publishing his first collection of poems, 'Teatro de operaciones', in 1967.
