As the 2020 census has shown Iowa’s Hispanic population about tripled in the last three decades, the Wellman-Scofield Public Library is gearing up to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.
Starting Wednesday, September 15th, the library will debut a Spanish section in the library. A display will be set up for the new collection of books with different decorations and activities for kids to participate in. Wellman-Scofield Library Director Erin Campbell explains some of the different books that will be in the Spanish collection, “We have quite a variety. We got a lot of children’s books.
