In an interview with El Cultural, Jorge Fornés, Carmen Carnero, Salva Espín and Belén Ortega, four Spanish artists who shape some of the most popular superheroes on paper, look back to their beginnings in the mecca of the industry.

From their respective cities of Barcelona, Murcia, Granada and Málaga, their images give life to the most charismatic superheroes of the great labels of American comics. Like so many Spaniards before them, they too, are already part of the Marvel and DC Universe. A super talent that has put them at the service of Batman, Spider-Man, Deadpool and Captain Marvel.

Although the list is vast, we spoke with four of the illustrators who are conquering the American market today. With an unrelenting pace between delivery deadlines, Jorge Fornés, Carmen Carnero, Salva Espín and Belén Ortega tell us how they got started from the other side of the Atlantic.
