Twelve must-have non-fiction books for the fall

With authors like Steve Pinker, Adam Tooze, Patrick Radden Keefe, Marylène Patou-Mathis, Daniel Kahneman, and Emmanuele Coccia, the non-fiction season is well stocked.

And with topics as relevant as the crisis caused by the coronavirus, the strategies of the pharmaceutical companies, the transgender issue and how to relate to others ... (perhaps we must be schooled again, after the confinement, on these issues).

There are also fascinating stories such as the one that we were so very wrong about: gender roles in prehistory (no, the men did not hunt and the women cleaned the cave) or how the mechanisms of chance work (thanks to the compulsive stage as a poker player of one of the writers). And we have essays by Alberto Olmos, on the shabby as Spanish essentiality; and Jordi Corominas, who covers the crimes and violence in Barcelona during the last century. A powerful autumn indeed.
