The project of having a Casa de América in Málaga became a reality with the support of the Economic Society of Friends of the Country in Málaga.

In a statement they have reported that the Governing Board of the Economic Society of Friends of the Country in Malaga, learned about the proposal to create the Casa de América project in Malaga, presented by Mr. Juan Antonio Sierra Lumbreras, Hispanist, collaborator and regular participant in every of the many activities held in Malaga.

"Knowing the purpose, scope and significance of this project, the Board agreed, with a positive assessment, to promote and propel this cultural and social initiative within the entity's annual Action Plan for the next five-year period."

Juan Antonio Sierra's proposal is to recover the approchement and the historical relationship in this third decade of the 21st century, taking on the character of a social, economic and cultural demand for the city and province of Malaga.
