The Ministry of Culture and Sports in Spain opened yesterday a call for subsidies, in a competitive competition process for the publication of books corresponding to 2021.

It is available for the publication of books in the Spanish language, in other official languages ??of the autonomous communities, in Spanish sign languages, in the "Grade 1" Braille system or audiobooks, which, regardless of the author's nationality, contribute to the enrichment of the Spanish bibliographic heritage.

The maximum amount to be requested per presented project must not exceed more than 50% of the total cost of the publication, this being understood as the sum of the costs that the edition or production, distribution and marketing of the book entail for the entity. The remaining 50% must necessarily be financed by the publisher's own funds or through other public or private aid.

The amount of the subsidy will be a maximum of 1,150,000 Euros. The maximum number of projects to be presented will be the equivalent of 50% of the applicant's editorial production in 2020 and, in any case, never more than five.
